เสียบสาย serial แล้วทำการบู๊ตสวิทช์ขณะที่สวิทช์กำลังบู๊ตให้คอยดูหน้าจอ เมื่อหน้าจอแสดง “—–DONE—–” ให้กดปุ่ม ctrl กับ u พร้อมกันประมาณ 5 ครั้งขึ้นไป จะมีหน้า password prompt แสดงขึ้นมา ให้ใส่ password ว่า switch จากนั้นหน้าจอจะแสดงรายการของไฟล์ในสวิทช์ ให้กด D ให้ทำการใส่ชื่อไฟล์ที่ลักษณะดูแล้วเป็นไฟล์คอนฟิก (ไฟล์ที่ไม่ใช่ runtime, diag, factory default, log หรือ certificate files) กด Q และสวิทช์ก็จะบู๊ตกลับไปที่การตั้งค่าจากโรงงาน Boot it while looking
